How you'll help:
In conservation
Assist rangers and trackers in all aspects of their duties. Search and rescue injured game. In the past this has included watching the guides put a big cat to sleep and carry out minor operations. Partake in morning or evening game drives (helping with the spotlight at night) and walking safaris. Reserve management initiatives - fencing and bush clearing. Help the leopards become more conditioned to humans and vehicles - this will involve putting out bait, tracking and monitoring their movements. This is dependant on the movements of the leopards and the chances of seeing the animals increases the more this project is carried out. Construction of bird hides and viewing decks to help monitor animal movements. Assist with the elephant back safari programme. Here you'll get to ride the elephants and help look after their diet, enclosures and general welfare. Opportunity to practise riffle shooting. Be introduced to 4 x 4 driving and a course will be conducted covering the basic skills and aspects of 4 x 4 driving.Microlight ariel survey/game count.

In the Community
Help construct an HIV AID's orphange, managed by Kwa Madwala, due to open in 2009. Once this is completed you can help teach the children. Implement the student seedling gardens to improve their diets. Help in a nearby children's orphanage at Thembalethu School, a centre for victims of AIDS. This is an amazing place, where you can teach and play with the kids, who are very energetic and fun. In addition we have painted murals and carried out maintenance - like building a stage. Community leaders will decide what projects are relevant. In addition income is generated by micro enterprises like making gifts, cards - recycled paper, seedling projects to improve diet etc. Various township community visits with possible activities including: building wells and water holes and teaching English and playing sport, including football matches in local Swazi secondary and primary schools.

In Eco-tourism
Assist the Rangers in their daily tasks, sometimes escorting guests on Safari. Assist camp managers with the early morning coffee stations. This is an area where guests and rangers get together prior to going out on safari. Assist with the general management of the lodges, including the bar, waitering, cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchens. Help welcome the guests checking them in/out.
