Blue Ventures is an award-winning marine conservation organisation offering unique expeditions in Madagascar, Belize and Timor-Leste. Our expeditions provide science and PADI dive training to our volunteers so that they can contribute towards our internationally recognised marine research and community work. Our focus on quality and value for money means that we offer some of the best accommodation, food and service in the sector and safety is a top priority when working above and below the water in remote environments. Our high standards have resulted in numerous awards including winning the 'Best Volunteering Organisation' at the Responsible Travel Awards and winning the 'Best Volunteering Organisation' in the British Youth Travel Awards.

The course description
a typical day on this gap project
A typical day on a Blue Ventures expedition could involve SCUBA diving on vibrant coral reefs, a fascinating lecture or workshop about the diverse marine wildlife volunteers encounter, a traditional Timorese cooking lesson and much more. Days are busy but volunteers also have plenty of time for fun and relaxation, with opportunities for snorkelling, hiking to Atauro's unspoilt beaches or just unwinding in a hammock. There is a strong community conservation element to the expedition and volunteers will get a real insight into how a conservation NGO like Blue Ventures operates in the field.
