a typical day on this gap project

This role involves management of a team of Tribe Leaders and Field Cook, as well as the day-to-day responsibilities of running an inspiring residential camp, you will be looking after your camp through facilitating activities for students during their stay with us. We will teach you all you need, then you will ensure our high standards, quality, pastoral care, safeguarding, health and safety are maintained throughout. This role requires enthusiasm, passion, and to lead by example as you will be a role model for young people, ensuring they leave camp with positive memories that will last them a lifetime.

• Full Training provided for all roles, no bushcraft experience required

• No uniform charges

• Free pitch sites available on our staff camps for the full season

• Good opportunities for progression into other season and full-time roles

The Bushcraft Company is a leading provider of outdoor education, offering residential trips to students across 10 secluded beautiful woodland estates, from Yorkshire to Kent, our outdoor jobs are all about a love of adventure, education, fun and of course the great outdoors. As an outdoor residential provider our season runs from the beginning of May – October, we have students ages 7-17 years-old come to our woodlands throughout this time.

Selection & Appointment Process: Candidates will be required to complete The Bushcraft Company pre-camp training programme. All appointments are subject to satisfactory training attendance, references and enhanced DBS Status.

As a Camp Leader you will be responsible for leading the students through a variety of experiences, to include but not exclusive to; Archery, Tracking and Trap Making, Wilderness Cookery, Fire Lighting (hand drill and more). You don't need any preexisting qualifications as we will provide full training for this role. This outdoor role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy and a desire to lead by example as you will be a role model for our young people, ensuring they leave camp with positive memories that will last them a lifetime.
