typical day What's it like

A typical day on this gap year project

During the initial training period you can expect to settle into resort life with a new group of friends, all with a passion for snowsports.

Training is typically 5 hours each day with an hour for lunch. Over the training package you will familiarise with the resort, strip back and improve your technique. There will be video analysis sessions which will improve your overall understanding and technical knowledge of the sport. You will develop your teaching skills with practical teaching and shadowing and be well prepared to tackle the level 1 exam.

During the remainder of the season you will be employed as a full-time snowsports instructor. Your day starts around 9am and finishes at 4pm. Lessons usually run for 3 hours in the morning and afternoon with an hour for lunch in between. You can expect to teach beginner lessons to both children and adults.

On our advanced programmes you can also expect additional training and qualifications interspersed around your work schedule during the season. Some of the qualifications available include; Teaching Children, Avalanche Skills, Freestyle and Level 2.
