During Training:

8am - A leisurely cooked breakfast near the slopes

9am - Chairlifts open - perfect for a warm up run

9.30am - Morning training session

Midday - Lunch Break

1pm - Afternoon training session

3.30pm - Training ends

4pm - chairlifts close

Evening - enjoy a leisurely evening meal followed by entertainment of your own choosing. There will be plenty of evening entertainment at each resort for you to enjoy and lots of people to socialise with.

All costs are covered in the first 3 weeks, so you don't have to worry. Most interns stay in hotel accommodation and have breakfast and evening meals 5 days a week. You'll train most days during the first few weeks and then take your level 1 ski or snowboard instructor exam - our pass rate for this was 100% last season! Once qualified you move into staff accommodation and start your guaranteed job working for the sports school as an instructor.

During Employment:

8am - Morning training session with the sports school.

8.30am - sort your equipment and see your supervisor to check the lessons you are working that day and confirm lesson plan.

9am - Meet your morning clients, head out to instruct and enjoy the slopes

Midday - Lunchtime

1pm - Meet your afternoon clients, head out to instructor and enjoy the slopes

4pm - Finish work for the day

Evening - enjoy a leisurely evening in the resort with your new colleagues and friends. Pub quizzes, disco nights, hockey trips - there is always something going on.

A typical day for a winter sports instructor starts at 8am - you're on the first chairlift of the day before anyone else in resort for a warm up run. Lessons start at 9am and as an intern you will be able to teach beginners to low level intermediates, so you will be travelling all over the mountain with guests.

Lessons end by 4pm, leaving enough time for you to get the lift up for one last run with your colleagues and friends. As an instructor you have regular hours and every evening off - so can make the most of the resort Apres!

You must be able to ski or snowboard European Blue Runs.

Interns must have the right to work in Canada, most applicants secure a Working Holiday Visa. The age requirement to apply for a working holiday visa is between 18 - 30 (35 for Irish citizens). You do not need to have a working holiday visa to apply, once you have been accepted onto the internship Winter Sports Company will provide full advice and support for the visa application process.
