typical day What's it like

A typical day on this gap year project

Viamonde works with international schools and every programme is tailor-made to meet their specific requirements. This means that each week is different, with a different schedule of outdoor activities, team-building exercises and fun evening activities.

You will be responsible for a small group of students throughout the day, making sure that they are safe and supervised at all times.

For some activities, you will be responsible for setting up and leading the activity. For other activities, you will assist a specialist instructor. Activities are varied and include hiking, climbing, orienteering, mountain biking, canyoning, high ropes, archery, zip lining, kayaking.

Other duties include some wake-up and lights-out duties, as well as participating in evening activities and supervising meals.

ideal candidate Project Requirements

Who would be a suitable participant?

Successful applicants will have experience supervising, teaching and motivating children, preferably in a camp or activity centre environment and be organised, creative, adaptable, trustworthy, patient and presentable. Most important is enthusiasm and passion for working outdoors.

Applicants should be at least 21 years of age (exceptions are made for very experienced applicants) and have EU, UK, US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or Swiss nationality.

Applicants should be certified in first aid and CPR.

Our staff and clients, although coming from throughout the world, all speak English. We are, however, based in a French-speaking area of Switzerland, which offers a great opportunity to improve language skills.
