a typical day on this gap project
As part of the instructor team, you’ll welcome groups, show them around, hand out kit, and help them settle in. You’ll deliver high-quality instruction while maintaining excellent safety and customer service standards. Daily tasks include setting up and packing down equipment, washing boats, dunking wetsuits, and keeping activity spaces tidy. You’ll work closely with young people, support your team, and help create a positive, energetic environment.
Activities You’ll Deliver
Depending on your qualifications, you may deliver:
*Stand Up Paddleboarding
*Mega SUP
*Kayaking
*RYA Windsurfing
*RYA Dinghy Sailing and Keelboating
*Wet and dry team games (including slackline and slip-and-slides)
*Water confidence and RYA swim safety sessions
*Raft building
Evening entertainment includes:
*Disco
*Cinema night
*Archery
*Crabbing
*Quiz nights
*Sports hall games
*Boat build
*Navigation and VHF workshops
*Sea survival sessions
*Cowes walk and field games
Would you be a good fit?

You must hold one of the following:
*RYA Dinghy Instructor
*RYA Keelboat Instructor
*RYA Windsurf Instructor
*Paddle sport instructor qualification
We’re looking for individuals who:
*Aged 18+ (17-year-olds considered in some cases)
*Have a can-do mindset and work well with young people
*Are confident outdoors and in the water every day
*Enjoy physical, active work
*Are keen to learn and try new activities
*Have high standards, strong motivation, and a good work ethic
