Course Description
a typical day on this gap project
Volunteers will be involved in various tasks, from preparing food and feeding the animals to monitoring their progress. Volunteers will be largely involved in creating enrichment activities and toys and giving them to the animals. Other tasks include cleaning enclosures and maintaining the ranch itself. Volunteers will have the opportunity to get close to lemurs, crocodiles and more while working.
There is an internship option available for those who want to gain more professional experience! Interns will get to shadow a caretaker.
Schedule:
Arrival Day, Monday: Arrive at George Airport (GRJ). You will be picked up from the airport and taken on a brief orientation tour of the area.
Day 1, Tuesday: Orientation day.
Days 2-4, Wednesday-Friday: Rewarding volunteer work at the ranch, between 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM.
Days 5-6, Saturday-Sunday: Weekends are free.
Remaining Weeks: The remaining weeks will follow the schedule of volunteering for three days, Monday-Friday, and having weekends free. Departures are on a Monday.
