Course Description
a typical day on this gap project
We are based in the 'Adventure Capital' of Africa, Livingstone, just a short distance away from one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls.
Our volunteers stay together in a lively local backpackers, but then spend each day (Monday to Friday) out in the nearby rural communities providing education support.
As a volunteer, you will get involved in a variety of activities, including:
- Providing assistance in classrooms, where you will support local teachers, and maybe even run some lessons of your own!
- Offering one-to-one attention to children falling behind in their education.
- Helping out at after-school clubs, where children get the opportunity to play and be creative!
- Running art, sport and reading clubs.
- Get involved in wider community initiatives, including building, farming and literacy clubs for adults.
The weekends consist of free time, meaning it is a perfect chance to explore Victoria Falls. There is plenty of adrenaline activities on offer, including bungee jumping and white water rafting, as well as amazing safari opportunities!
