Course Description
a typical day on this gap project
Nestled at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, is the small and welcoming community of Moshi that you will call home!
As a volunteer, you will work with one of Africa's most iconic and oldest tribes, the Maasai, supporting members of the tribe who have had little or no opportunity to access education as a child and are suffering as adults to get jobs.
Each day (Monday - Friday), you will get involved in a variety of activities that target all demographics within the community; from teenagers and adults, to single mothers, widows and people with disabilities.
This will include:
- Literacy programs
- English language lessons
- Professional development programs
- Youth empowerment programs
Weekends consist of free time, where volunteers can explore the local area. Tanzania is known for it's unspoiled wildlife, so a safari should definitely be on the cards! For the more adventurous, why not try hiking the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro?
Would you be a good fit?
