Course Description

a typical day on this gap project

Professional Yachtmaster - 16 weeks...

This course involves both theory and practical learning.

*70 days afloat covering a minimum of 2,500 tidal miles, including one week's self skippering

*Navigation training

*Radar training in our state-of-the-art simulation suite

*Basic engineering and safety training

*Careers guidance

Whether you want to sail commercial yachts under 24m for employment opportunities in flotilla, charter, deliveries, and instruction, or you would prefer to work on large ocean-going yachts and superyachts, our Professional Yachtmaster provides a fast and effective way to enter the industry and start your career.

the requirements for this course

You must have an ENG1 seafarer medical fitness certificate to work at sea and to enable you to apply for your RYA Commercial Endorsement.

There are no other pre-requisites necessary to start the course but it may be beneficial to attend an open day at UKSA. learn more about the courses on offer, meet UKSA's team, see the campus facilities, and get a feel for what life would be like as a future UKSA student. Contact UKSA to book.
