The course description
a typical day on this gap project

Starting with a walk through the sanctuary, volunteers can spot bears warming up in the early morning sun, taking a dip in one of the pools or lounging in a tree. Volunteers work as a team to prep the food, assist with feeding, observe the bears and assist with the other sanctuary animals when required. The bears at this sanctuary have been rescued from poor conditions, so volunteering here is a wonderful opportunity to see recovered bears enjoying their safe enclosures. They now live in natural enclosures and are able to enjoy their safety. Each enclosure has a pool, which you may be lucky enough to see bears playing in as they tussle over a stick or splashing water. You will head home knowing you have helped this amazing sanctuary and supporting the efforts of the team to rescue bears from circuses, zoos and backyard cages.
